Belated birthday wishes and other randomness

I've gotten so caught up in life recently that I completely forgot to write a special birthday wish last week--

Happy Belated Birthday, Mom!

We all celebrated as a family on the day and wished her birthday love in person, of course!

I dropped the ball a bit on getting any pictures of the beautiful birthday cake, but I can assure you it was delectable in every way (thank you Sugar Plum Bakery)! And Mom's gift this year? A new Kindle Fire of her own! Knowing how much she would enjoy it, we all decided to chip in and treat an amazing woman who always does without. This day was for you, Mom! We love you OH so very much!!!

In other news, we've been sick with colds all week. Somehow Emma has managed to have no more than an occasional runny nose and ever-so-slight cough, but Scott and I are currently without voices, full of sinus pressure and living on hot tea. We both started to feel bad on Sunday and are still waiting for it to run its course. Hopefully this weekend marks the beginning of feeling healthy again!

I've been taking a break from selling hats this season and have instead been enjoying crocheting gifts for loved ones. I have several projects underway and am using nap times and evenings in front of the television to work on them. This week has involved a weeeeeeeeeeee bit more movie time for Emma and crochet time for me as we haven't been leaving the house, but I don't intend to keep that as a recurring trend. In fact, we spent some time in the kitchen together making sugar cookies yesterday (recipe to come), and we had so much fun! Emma got a thrill out of choosing which cookie cutters to use and pushing them into the dough with all her might. It was a cute little preview of our Christmas cookie baking this year!

The most exciting part of our week was another chance to see Chloe on Wednesday evening!! The doctor scheduled another ultrasound to get a better peek at her face and head, which were snuggled super low in my pelvis at our 20 week ultrasound. Everything looks as perfect as perfect can be, and sweet little Chloe gave us quite the show! She's now sitting/laying head up (which I could tell from feel her movements higher up), and she gave us some adorable pictures as she was looking right at us the entire time. One of her hands was even snuggled against her cheek, just the way her big sister used to lay as a newborn... melt my heart! I realized the other day that we are now into November, which means only three more months until we meet our sweet baby girl!

YIPPEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
