Thinking

I haven't decided what to do with this blog yet... whether it be a new direction or to stop writing all together. Life raising a toddler and growing a wee one is proving to be hard work--work that I absolutely love, but challenging nonetheless. About the only time I find to take pictures anymore are the moments when Emma will allow me to capture her cuteness. But craftiness, cooking and the like? Psh-aaaaaaaaaaa. That hasn't been happening all too often, and when it does, there is no way I'm going to attempt pausing real life to make my two-year-old pose with her hands full of paint or her little arms elbow deep in stirring cookie dough with Mama. I did take on a few crochet orders for the Christmas season after all, but I ended up needing to cancel one or two due to the overwhelming stress and time constraints it placed on my family and I (but mostly on myself). So, in a nutshell, I just don't know quite what to do with this anymore. I think I'll simply make it a bloggy home for our family updates and adventures, but then again... isn't that what Facebook is for? Oh well. I'll figure it out eventually!

In the meantime, we had a pretty great day today. I celebrated 26 weeks of growing miss Chloe Marie by chugging a pretty gross drink for the hour-long diabetes test. However, I had a regular checkup during which I heard her sweet, strong heartbeat, the nurses played Elf in the waiting room, and I carried on my tradition from Emma's pregnancy with a Chick-fil-a breakfast afterwards. Emma had a blast playing at Grammy and Grampa's house with the kiddos, which means she took a wonderful nap and I enjoyed some real downtime. The only downside to this day was Scott working until 10:00 tonight, but he works hard to support our family and sometimes a late night is simply required. The tree lighting was on tonight from NYC, which was somewhat entertaining, but I can't help but feel like Mariah and those Italian guys were the only ones with any actual singing talent. Just me? Maybe so.

Tomorrow is looking to be another relaxing day at home, only to be followed by a nonstop but completely fun weekend! Emma is spending a couple of nights at Grammy's house while Scott and I enjoy his work Christmas party, some Christmas shopping and our 6th anniversary dinner--always at McCormick & Shmick's. After a couple of weeks of feeling totally frantic and stressed out about really stupid things, it's refreshing to once again feel calm, balanced, and sane enough to count my blessings at the end of the night!

  2. This is something you enjoy doing not a chore, when it becomes a chore, then take a break. I enjoy reading it and others do too. Write when you can and if not, don't worry about it.
