WIP Wednesday: Big Bobble Beanie

There are a few new patterns I've been working on recently, but now it's a matter of typing them up and sharing them with others! In the meantime, I thought I'd post a few pictures of my newest hat pattern. For lack of a more creative thought process right now, I've decided to call it the...

Big Bobble Beanie

I know. Real creative.

I really wanted to make myself a slouchy winter hat with texture and style, and I've also been itching for a reason to finally work with Lion Brand Wool-Ease. How have I gone this long without doing so? I love it! Almost as much as I love my new hat... almost. ;)

I promise to write this pattern up very soon... hopefully within the week. My plan is to list it on Etsy, but I just might host a good ol' giveaway so that a few luck readers can own this pattern for free.

Would you like that?

I'm a sucker for giveaways and free patterns. Stay tuned!

  1. The hat looks adorable! I love to knit hats but I don't seem to wear them as much as I give them away.

  3. Hi Kim -- lovely hat! I like its shape.
I just read your post on being a tired mama :) It showed up on my Google Reader, although it's not here right now. And I just want to say, yes. Know your own limits. Know what matters to YOU. And know when to back off and say no. I'm 49, and I'm still battling some of the same subjects you referred to. My husband has told me honestly that he enjoys living with me more, when I don't work. How's that for honest? haha :) It's true. I've also had to reassess lately how much effort I want to put into my own tiny business of yarn/soap/lipbalm/lotion. You are just heading into the years of motherhood, and you can never, ever reclaim the moments you don't spend with your children. Mine are in college now. If you're overwhelmed by your day, and there's something you can omit that will bring you and your family peace, omit it. Someday that little girl will be one of your best friends. Develop your relationship toward that. God bless!!
